Solaris Workshop – Intro to USD Concepts | Rob Stauffer | Houdini HIVE Worldwide
In this talk, we will cover the basics of USD, from composition arcs to variants. Using examples inside of Houdini, we will build very simple scene graphs illustrating these concepts.
Rob Stauffer is a Senior Production Consultant at SideFX. He has over 20 years experience in computer graphics and visual effects. Rob started his career at Digital Domain and has worked at Sony Imageworks, Weta Digital, Asylum FX and most recently was an FX Supervisor at Rhythm and Hues. He has contributed to the FX of over 20 feature films including, \”Lord Of The Rings: The Return of The King\”, \”Spiderman 2\”, \”XMen:First Class\”, \”The Day After Tomorrow\” and \”Seventh Son”. Rob joined SideFX in 2013 where he educates new and existing clients on the features of Houdini. Consults with studios on their pipelines and where Houdini may fit in and explores new and future technologies within VFX, Games and VR.
Facial Gua Sha and Acupressure Massage | Gothamista
With so many facial tools available now, many of which come quite costly, the one I love using the most and really makes a difference to not just how my skin and face looks, but how I feel, is the gua sha. I’ve had gua sha body treatments for years specifically to help areas of pain and inflammation. But gua sha for the body and the face are very different.
I had my TCM practitioner teach me how to do this correctly, the technique and sequence (full disclosure, I’ve done it incorrectly and my face was a mess the following few days) and the different acupressure points in my face. From there, I focused on what works best for me and boy, does it work! Many of you have asked me how I use this simple tool. I incorporate facial acupressure which I never realized how much I needed until recently. Even my mood is affected after I do this facial massage so I hope you enjoy watching and can do this along with me!
