Bộ Quốc phòng Nga đã phê duyệt thiết kế sơ bộ của máy bay mới PAK DA, đồng ý về các đặc điểm của nó và ký các tài liệu cần thiết để sản xuất.
Đương nhiên, các chi tiết của dự án được giữ bí mật, đến nay chỉ có rất ít thông tin được tiết lộ. Ví dụ, máy bay sử dụng công nghệ tàng hình, các hợp kim và vật liệu tổng hợp mới nhất. Động cơ mạnh hơn nhưng cũng tiết kiệm hơn sẽ cho phép tăng khả năng bay liên tục đến 30 giờ (so với 25 giờ của Tu160 hiện tại).
Vào tháng 5/2020 đã có tin về việc khởi động dự án chế tạo nguyên mẫu máy bay ném bom chiến lược mới, vào tháng 12 đã có tin về việc lắp ráp động cơ đầu tiên cho nó và sắp bắt đầu các bài kiểm tra trên băng ghế dự bị. Song song với điều đó, một số động cơ khác đang được lắp ráp để thử nghiệm trên băng ghế dự bị, cũng như trong điều kiện \”phòng thí nghiệm bay\”.
Thân cánh liền khối
PAK DA được thiết kế theo sơ đồ “cánh bay”. Việc sử dụng sơ đồ này giúp mở rộng khả năng chiến đấu, cải thiện khả năng cơ động và khả năng tàng hình. Trả lời phỏng vấn của Sputnik, Thiếu tướng, Phi công quân sự danh dự Liên bang Nga Vladimir Popov nói về những ưu điểm của cách bố trí như vậy:
\”Trên thân cánh liền khối, tải trọng được phân bổ đều trên cánh. Không có phụ kiện đi kèm, cửa hút gió của động cơ được ẩn sâu bên trong, và thân cánh rộng bảo vệ khỏi khí thải nóng. Ngoài ra, cách thiết kế như vậy cho phép mang thêm nhiều nhiên liệu, đạn dược và thiết bị điện tử trên máy bay\”.
Đồng thời, các chuyên gia chắc chắn rằng, máy bay ném bom chiến lược đầy hứa hẹn của Nga vẫn sẽ là loại cận âm, với tốc độ bay khoảng 1.000 km/h. PAK DA có thể tấn công cả từ độ cao cực thấp và từ tầng bình lưu.
Tiềm năng để hiện đại hóa
PAK DA sẽ được trang bị các thiết bị điện tử hiện đại nhất và sẽ có tiềm năng to lớn để hiện đại hóa trong nhiều thập kỷ tới.
“Trước đây các chuyên gia cũng đã làm như vậy. Các máy bay mang tên lửa Tu95 có tuổi đời hơn nửa thế kỷ, nhưng chúng vẫn giải quyết được tất cả các nhiệm vụ mà chúng đang đối mặt,\” ông Vladimir Popov nhấn mạnh.
\”Thiết bị điện tử và các hệ thống tự động sẽ tăng đáng kể khả năng cơ động và giúp dễ dàng điều khiển máy bay mới. Có một thời, Vương quốc Anh đã có đội máy bay ném bom chiến lược Avro Vulcan với cánh tam giác theo sơ đồ gần như \”cánh bay\”, ông Vladimir Popov nhắc nhớ. \”Một trong những lý do khiến Không quân Anh từ bỏ loại máy bay này là những khó khăn khi điều khiển máy bay bằng tay và không thể tự động hóa nó. Nhưng máy bay PAK DA sẽ được tự động hóa cao”.
Bộ Quốc phòng Nga ấn định mốc thời gian sản xuất hàng loạt máy bay PAK DA vào cuối năm 2027.
