I have made other questions on other posts. I wonder If I take picture of my bulbs you can tell me what they are? They are growing green in containers but no flower. Just needing to know. Will send picture tomorrow.

I understand non-species tulips and hyacinths are a gamble when it comes to them coming back well the next year, but what are people’s thoughts about leaving a display like this, or a bulb lasagna, as is for another year? I just know myself and I would be a bit more inclined to wait until the foliage has died back, throw in some colorful annuals for summer and fall to keep the container in use, and then overwinter it once more. I am a little loathe to throw bulbs out and have only so much space to plant them out in the garden (though a meadow of long grass filled with pops of spring bulbs is a nice little life goal).
I would think if I’m careful choosing tulip varieties then I could make this a biennial task.

Can you not just leave them in the container for next year? Following the same water/winter procedures? Does that not work? I'd like to do this, but i thought the good thing about bulbs was that they kept coming back.
Our front garden is mostly native and i wouldn't want to add in a bunch of non-native flowers. I also don't want to toss the bulbs because it's expensive to waste them. Should also mention I want to plant lasagne style so different bulbs at different layers for seasonal long blooming. Digging all that out and tossing it would stink.
