  1. This song is very smart. Even today people would like to judge someone like Fantine, call her names. This is her I'm not different than you song. I just had bad luck. Her numbness speaks to me because sometimes there is no way out. No prince on a white horse, no lucky twist of fate. She fought to stay afloat on the surface and when no hope came she drowned.

  2. The song has so much emotion in it – from high joy to lowest, gut wrenching sorrow, and despair. It amazes me that she can put all that emotion into lines that switch between emotions on a dime, and if you listen to how she sings, those twists and turns of emotion are all there in her voice. Just incredible.

  3. Here's my opinion, since there are people out there comparing Ms. Ruthie and Ms. Lea.

I believe Ruthie's voice fits perfectly with Fantine. Her voice is what a 'woman who's fate is to become a prostitute for the sake of her daughter's support' would have.

On the other hand, Lea's voice is, for me, "too clean" (ykwim?) for the role of Fantine. I think her technically profound voice is well suited for a role like Eponine's.

Nevertheless, I think both have done supporting the role, but I'd go with Ms. Ruthie's voice for Fantine. The texture of her voice and her vocal tonality just screams Fantine.

  4. This is what ART means -♥️ stunning and beautiful, though the story it tells very sad and miserable, 😢 i hope there also men soft and mature Not only in womens dreams 😉🤭🥰cheers 😎
