  1. First time hearing this.. I was born in 82… Seems as tho I was late to the party haha. Man, how awesome is this gig?!! I've just purchased to vinyl to play it on my record player!

  2. One day, I was waiting for some friends at the Principal Bar and Restaurant in Midland, WA. I bought a beer and went out side to to drink it. I was sitting at a table and I noticed this bloke sitting at another table who looked very familiar, but I couldn't put a name to the face. Like me, he was by himself, rolling his own and drinking a few beers.

I have worked on about 35 remote mine sites in my working life, so I assumed he was someone I had worked with. So, as I do in these situations, I began to go through all of the sites in my head, hoping to make a connection, but I kept coming up with a blank.

Finally, this bloke got up and left, walking past me and out to onto Cale Street. When he was out of sight, it suddenly hit me – that was Matt Taylor! Like Matt, I too remember when I was young. Had my memory been better, I might have been able to have a beer with a muso I've admired since Moses played at full back for the Jews.

Sorry Matt, I think I owe you a beer, mate!

  3. Great stuff. I was absolutely blessed to work during this golden age of Australian music. I played and had a small sound and lighting company from the mid 70s until 84 based in Sydney. Just before this performance I was doing FOH for a young band for three weeks at a den of iniquity called The Bombay Rock in Surfers Paradise. The last weekend Matt and Chain came in for two nights. I still remember how well they treated the young band I worked for. Spent a lot of time talking to them, encouraging them etc. Great musicians, even better people.

  4. My kids donโ€™t believe how good things were back in our day. Some of the โ€˜unbelievableโ€™ events that we witnessed, experienced and practiced ARE to be believed !!!

  5. Was this a free concert in about Oct 82 at the Myer music bowl!? cos I was there. First trip to Melb , happen to be walking past, saw all these people gathering and ended up enjoying several great Aussies bands by chance! Those were days.

  6. Sitting here for the past 2 hours .. Twighlights,Billy thorpe & Aztecs, Chain , Masters Apprentices the list goes on .. reliving my teens .. how spoilt were we !! Cmon Aussies Cmon !!!

  7. I had never herd of these guys until I went to the Hacienda Hotel in Ferntree Gully in the early eighties and wow did they blow my socks off. To this day, the best pub gig I have ever experienced.
