It was opened in 2018 and is the newest terminal, featuring for its eco-friendly and modern design.
It used to be the main terminal before the completion and opening of Terminal 2 and is largest airport terminal in area in South Korea.
At Seoul Airport passengers will find the following services and amenities:
Seoul is South Korea’s historic capital from more than 600 hundred years and it is the most populated city in Korea peninsula as well.
It has a total of five palaces, being Gyeongbokgung the largest and most important.
You can’t miss Gwanghwamun Gate, Gyeongbokgung Palace and Changdeokgung Palace, a palace with secret gardens and exotic flora and fauna and really interesting to visit, especially during spring with the cherry blossoms.
The modern part of the city in Seoul is fantastic too, you can’t miss N Seoul Tower which has a total height of 236 metres and fantastic views.
Don’t forget to try the authentic South Korean food with Kimchi and all its traditional dishes.

Incheon, South Korea – Landing at Incheon International Airport HD (2015)
Incheon International Airport (IIA) (IATA: ICN, ICAO: RKSI) (Korean: 인천국제공항, sometimes referred to as SeoulIncheon International Airport) is the largest airport in South Korea, the primary airport serving the Seoul Capital Area, and one of the largest and busiest airports in the world. Since 2005, it has been rated the best airport worldwide by Airports Council International every year. It is also rated as the world’s cleanest airport and the world’s best international transit airport by Skytrax.
The airport has a golf course, spa, private sleeping rooms, ice skating rink, a casino, indoor gardens and a Museum of Korean Culture. Airport authorities claim that average departure and arrival takes 19 minutes and 12 minutes respectively, as compared to worldwide average of 60 minutes and 45 minutes respectively, ranking it among of the fastest airports in the world for customs processing.[4] Its dutyfree shopping mall has been rated the world’s best for three years in a row in 2013 by Business Traveller.[5] Incheon International Airport also claims that it has only a 0.0001% baggage mishandling rate.
Located 48 km (30 mi) west of Seoul, the capital and the largest city of South Korea, Incheon International Airport is the main hub for Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, Jeju Air, and Polar Air Cargo. The airport serves as a hub for international civilian air transportation and cargo traffic in East Asia. Incheon International Airport is also currently Asia’s eighth busiest airport in terms of passengers, the world’s fourth busiest airport by cargo traffic, and the world’s eighth busiest airport in terms of international passengers in 2014. In that year, 40,785,953 international passengers used the airport.
The airport opened for business in early 2001 to replace the older Gimpo International Airport, which now serves mostly domestic destinations plus shuttle flights to alternate airports in China, Japan, and Taiwan.
Incheon International Airport is located west of Incheon’s city center, on an artificially created piece of land between Yeongjong and Yongyu islands. The two islands were originally separated by shallow sea. That area between the two islands was reclaimed for the construction project, effectively connecting the once separate Yeongjong and Yongyu islands. The reclaimed area as well as the two islands are all part of Junggu, an administrative district of Incheon.
It is connected to the mainland by Incheon International Airport Expressway (Expressway 130), a part of which is Yeongjong Bridge. The expressway also connects Gimpo International Airport to provide connections between domestic flight service with international air traffic, an advantage that makes it much easier to travel from southern Korean regions to Incheon, and then to airports all over the globe. Incheon Bridge serves as the second path to the southern part of Incheon city from October 2009. The airport is served by frequent bus service from all parts of South Korea as well as by traditional ferry service between Yeongjong pier and Incheon. Airport limousines operate around the clock from Seoul to Incheon, and several backup highway buses escort people from places within and outside Seoul.
The Incheon International Airport Railroad connects Incheon International Airport to Seoul Station in downtown Seoul. NonStop Express trains 43 minutes, and regular trains which stops at all stations takes 53 minutes to Seoul Station. KTX highspeed rail access is available within the same station.
The airport holds an unbreakable record of being ranked the Best Airport Worldwide for 7 consecutive years by the Airports Council International (ACI)’s Airport Service Quality award from 2005 to 2011, and was also rated the world’s best among airports of its size (2540m) and region (AsiaPacific) in 2012 due to the institution’s decision to discontinue the Best Airport Worldwide category.
Seoul Incheon International Airport’s terminal has 76 boarding gates altogether, with 44 in the main terminal and 30 in Concourse A.

I went to Seoul Incheon International Airport, the largest airport in South Korea. I have visited a lot of airports in Asia, but it seems to be rare that the infrastructure is as good as Incheon Airport. Indeed, as you can see from the figures, it has been No.1 in the Airports Council International(ACI)’s Airport Service Quality Rank(ASQ) for 12 consecutive years. Recently, it has maintained the second and third places steadily, and when the second terminal opens in January 2018, the value of the airport is likely to rise further.
Seoul Incheon Airport site is made up of four islands for use as an airport terminal. That is why it has become an international airport that can operate around the clock without any restrictions related to the surrounding area. It’s close to Incheon, Seoul, and the metropolitan area, and has excellent accessibility to hundreds of airport limousine buses, subways and KTX.
Internal facilities
In the airport there are wireless LAN, lounge, steam room, movie theater. The area where the airport is located is called Yeongjongdo, and the residents of the area come to the airport to enjoy the cultural life. According to a site called ‘The Guide to Sleeping in Airports (http://www.sleepinginairports.net)’, Seoul Incheon Airport was ranked second in the airport as a good night’s sleeping place. As the number of passengers using Incheon International Airport as transit airport increases, a capsule hotel, ‘Darak Hyu’ is opened on January 20th, 2017.
