One thing that can help you a lot with songwriting and chord progressions is understanding the emotion and feeling that each chord can provide.

Chords are made of notes, but these notes can create unique emotions that can help you express your feelings through the music.

In this guitar lesson, we will take a look at the most popular guitar chords and the emotion associated with them.

We will learn:

Always remember to put these chords into practice. You should replace the basic chords you already know with some of the chords shown in this video to add more color and emotions to your chord progressions.

🎸FAQs:
Are you a full-time YouTuber?
Yes, I am on YouTube as Marco Cirillo, and I promote my videos on my website BlitzGuitar.com. All the courses I post online are available on my Patreon page

How long have you been playing guitar?
I started playing guitar when I was 10 years old, so it has been more than 20 years. I have always loved fingerpicking guitar, so this is why all my tutorials focus on this topic.

Why are you on Patreon?
Patreon is great! It allows creators to make money doing what they love. On Patreon, I can share my guitar lessons with my Patrons and get paid for it. As a creator, I feel like Patreon really made a massive difference in the way I share my content 🙂

Do you do concerts?
I used to do a lot of gigs in the past. London is a great place to play music almost every day. When my YouTube channel started to grow, I decided to go all-in and try to help as many people as possible learning guitar. This goal takes all the time I have available, so I am not doing any gig or concert atm.

  1. Marco, very good explained! Thank you very much for this video as I really had a chance to think about this interval patterns and was able to use them on guitar and piano as well… amazing 😉

i really would appreciate and love if you could also explain how to smoothly make transitions between all of this emotional expressions… I know that there are connected notes between these chords, but it is in practice really hard to wrap my mind about all the orders and their relatives… Should I always go for the circle of fifths and follow the major/minor relations or are there maybe better ways to find nice working combinations in music? For me good music needs to be authentic but I still struggle to play this way. 😊

    thank you and stay save!

  2. You have taught me so much.I really appreciate that you take time out to teach people.I still have a long way to go but I am farther than I was yesterday.

  3. Your videos are always interesting. Don't Matter if we known what are you explaining. You make see it with a new vision. Congrats and thanks for the job. Buonasera from Spain

  4. I love your tutorials! Can you recomend a youtuber like you but in spanish? my non english speaking friend asked me to teach her guitar but i dont have the time to so i want to refer her to someone like you.

  5. What a perfectly simple and clear way of describing chord construction, I’ve always been confused with complex chord names, the only thing now is that I need to learn them and where to play them, thanks for a great lesson

  6. Marco – enhancement of my fingerstyle growing with your awesome tutorials. I have requested multiple times earlier as well and again please make a video on time signature and compatible fingerpicking pattern 🤩

  7. Always love your sessions…you play amazing and your way of teaching is very good..not only I learn new things but it also bring peace of mind…sometime I just close my eye and play your videos…god I feel so good…lots of love from your Indian fan..❤️❤️
