I recall this amusing song from my childhood. More of a music hall song rather than pure folk, it is however just my cup-of-tea. I was reminded of it again when I came across it in the GEST Songs Of Newfoundland And Labrador site. It was written by Robert Patrick Weston.

As you say this is an old English music hall turn ,my old Dad(born in 1906) used to sing it to us kids when we were young ,so very funny ,I laughed and laughed ,and it brought all those happy memories flooding back ,thankyou so much for posting ,lovely singing and music!!

i am laughin me socks off…..what a brilliant song….and just what the ladies and gents at the nursing home i work at would love to hear tony! being somewhat younger i had never heard this one before (i am 55)…but my partner (who is 65) remembers it from his childhood. so… i am sure if i learn it and play it at work ….it might just stimulate some memories and we might get them singin along! thankyou tony for all you do. x
