  3. The first time I heard this waiata was on T.V. It was "Te Maori-The Homecoming". The Maori treasures; which had just returned from the U.S.A (Chicago); were welcomed home after their extensive, & very successful tour; including our own country (NZ). I can remember seeing the exhibition in Auckland. Both my late wife; a Nga Puhi, & I; Pakeha; & our two daughters fell head over heels in love with it.

  5. if anyone has a copy of her first singing it in the 80's,please put it up…she performed this song at some ceremony that was televised, she was so emotional she could barely sing…NZTV would repeat showing her performance from time to time
