I understand there are not the traditional 3 fingered C and G chords most teachers teach. This is a BEGINNER GUITAR LESSON. Do don't be mean about it. Not everyone can jump right into 3 fingered chords. πŸ™‚

  2. Hello,

    I am an old leaner.
    Learning an electric guitar.

I started using two fingers for every chords
However, I've seen videos of others, they are suggesting to use three fingers per chord.

    Bit confused!
Please advise, whenever you have time.
    Thank you.

    Atique

  3. I hate to be a downer… but if she plays an Em with the first finger, God only knows how she'd play an E chord. I get the four chord thing, but how far does it have to be dumbed down. Just sayin.

  4. I’m confused because everywhere else is telling me that G chord needs you to have a finger on the 4th fret of the first string and it also applies for the C chord, says that it’s 4th string 3rd fret, 3rd string 2nd fret and first fret of the second string.

  5. Easily the clearest visuals which makes a world of difference while learning online, and she understands what it's like for actual beginners, too many vids on here assume we're just picking up what they've shown us instantly. Almost none on Youtube take into account that we can't practice for more than as little as 10 minutes until some callouses develop, then 20 in a couple of weeks etc, Neck soreness for those of us who are older students…too many variables overlooked by 95% of the teachers on Youtube.

  6. Also, at the end of the video, put all the those chord charts all on same screen to see at once. People can screenshot it to see afterwards while practicing.

Also the charts themselves need numbers in them that identify the finger in the ⚫ and in the white βšͺ for the strings.

  7. Suggestion for being a "teacher" should be elementary understood to teach…

Obviously there is a common issue besides finger placement location to the right string for the chord sound, but also non interruption of cross touching or not touching down enough to make each string touched to buzz or be mute.

    So….

When strumming; each string that is touched by a finger, no matter how many are strumming for the chord, Individually pick them 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 while holding the fingers in proper place to hear that they are ringing out without buzz or muted. Do this until your finger position is letting them all ring well. Then you know you have that well placed hand/fingers when strumming the strings for the chord.
