I've been listening to an old Windham Hill album, Solid Colors by Liz Story. When Rick started playing, I was hearing all of her chords.
6:30 the classic showing your friends your song posture. Love this track so much
Beautiful, fresh sounding chords. The trio demo of the progression was modern, grooving, and beautiful.
The stuff at the end is reminiscent of the opening and solo part of Elton John's "The One".
Thanks rick! Been really working on my circle of fifths and key centers, and getting frustrated with that. I was watching this video tho and every chord change a key center popped into my head and it gives me hope! I think its just not being fluent when looking for notes on the neck of my guitar holding me back!
Sounds great! Great concept!
Father and son album would be awesome.
???? I passed Grade 6 music theory but I have no idea he's saying???
How is he playing a g minor chord and voicing it in the key of A major? Can someone explain this? I looked up altered chords and borrowed chords but I can’t find anything. :/
Mind blown
Beautiful
Just found this, mind blown!
1:09 Am I the only one who thought of Indiana Jones? 🙂
Love your kids voice!! You should borrow his voice to break down the Bee Gees complex vocal harmonies..
Rick this is an awesome vid! Great subject choice, clearly presented and what really hit me was your Feel when you played the keys….
Why do I hear Cheers?
Great tip!
It sounds like Knower.
Do the solo piano melody on violin. Hey presto! Kansas! 😀
Luv-lee 😎👍🏼
C, G, Am, F
A Pat Metheny sound
I thought I made weird music..
very Robert Glasper these chords
Just great!.
These chords are murder on a guitar. I'm going nuts trying make the shapes Rick.
wow, I never would've thought to use this. I've been getting to a point where I feel like my chord progressions are getting stale because I was sticking to a scale. I wanted to try model interchange (not really sure if that's what you would call this) but had no clue how till now. Thank you!!
Rick Beato is the only one that can advertise "how to modernize your sound with THIS ONE EASY TRICK" and not be clickbait.
Just love this progression. It has a real concert feel for improvising.
Do You guys know what This Chord is ??_______(Bass) B-E___(Chord) A-B-C#-E ???
Sounds of Billy Cobham and Todd Rundgren! Stealing immediately. Thanks!!
Do you ever compose based upon what you see playing in a video?
Wow, that was so cool! Thank you for the post.
