Kill Hannah – Under The Milky Way

Kill Hannah – Under The Milky Way and information related to this topic.

Sometimes when this place gets kind of empty,
Sounds of their breath fades with the light.
I think about the loveless fascination,
Under the milky way tonight.

Lower the curtain down on Memphis,
Lower the curtain down all right.
I got no time for private consultation,
Under the milky way tonight.

[Chorus:]
Wish I knew what you were looking for.
Might have known what you would find.
Wish I knew what you were looking for.
Might have known what you would find.

And its something quite peculiar,
Something that’s shimmering and white.
Leads you here despite your destination,
Under the milky way tonight.

[Chorus]

Under the milky way tonight

  1. No matter what the topic, we are all typical humans , everyone got a different opinion, some extreme, most just a comment, take it easy everyone 🙄 it's just a song .
For me… I'd never heard of the Church, heard this song for 1st time, by the Kill Hannah, and just assumed it was theirs , and think it sounds great … Shortly after … looked n found a couple of their cd's n purchased , they are good🙂 in my 'umble opinion 🙂😉

  2. The problem with this cover is that they didn't change enough. It invites comparison to the original, where it's going to come out inferior.

  3. The background instruments are great on this version. Very ethereal and dreamy. However, the vocals are too soft and refined; not intimate enough. For that the original is still my favorite.

  4. Such a pretty song, too bad so few people know it
I wish more bands would cover it. the church is not the most widely known band. That is how you keep alive the memory of a good band that did not make it.
The more bands that cover this song, the more people will find the original. Props to there guys for having good taste in music.

  5. Freaking crappy pathetic youtuber who spends all day showing off his immense genre ignorance whilst using an unoriginal string of coordinate adjectives without proper comma usage.

  6. okay i don't necessarily like this, but it's well done. they are a bit like a modern version of the church. however i do actually prefer sia's cover and i really prefer the church's version over sia's version. however all of them are well done.

  7. @WarmHeartKid Exactly! Although, there is a point where artists take too many liberties with songs (usually this happens when country artists cover rock songs…not sure why) and it ends up sounding like they are trying to pass it off as an original. Kill Hannah are all fans of The Church and were honored to do this song. The most amazing thing about a Kill Hannah cover is, with Mat's super unique voice, they'll never make a karaoke copy of anything.

  8. @skylinedriver911 WRNO in New Orleans bro.. We're the Rock of New Orleans. WRNO I watched it because I love The Church. Not trolling just expressing my opinion as to why I find this version gay. Since you mentioned WI, go back inside and put on your goth makeup to match your pale skin from being inside all winter. Better yet get outside and get some color. Or watch twilight for the millionth time and dream of being something better than the loser you are.

  9. @themetalchef oooh a music director for 8 years…dude nobody givess a fuck…u prolly were a 3am college dj for a tech school in wisconsin…if u don't like the song why are u on here?…only loser trolls go on videos they hate and shit talk…get a life!

  10. @dustinjvb I was expressing my opinion as to what I feel is a substandard cover. Hide behind this screen and rant at those who disagree with you because you know no one can beat your ass. Rant little boy rant. Oh get your mom to heat you some more spaghetti o's.

  11. @themetalchef I like when people try to throw these cute little credentials that are supposed to mean shit to the rest of the internet public. Congrats, so you're a shitty "radio music director". No one cares.

  12. you people make me nuts. every time someone covers a song everyone cries about how much better the original was… if its so good then go listen to that one and quit bitching about this one. its to the point where no one is aloud to cover a song any more

  13. @themetalchef Unfortunately, I think these days it WOULD be. I've noticed most radio stations these days only play the same 6 songs in a row all day. That being said, I wouldn't necessarily say this version sucks ass, I think that would only be possible if Justin Beiber covered it. I hesitate to say that, though; out of fear that he/she might think it's a good idea………………….

  14. Nice version of the song. I guess we all know why themetalchef was only in the business for '8 years', he needs to be open to new and different kinds of music. He is probably still sore that we no longer pound on logs and chant next to the fire pit.

  15. @cheshirecat104 as you should learn to respect others opinions as to what is actual music.. This cover SUCKS ASS seriously.. Reagardless who likes it.. I was in radio for 8 years as a music director and this shit would never get put into rotation..

  16. the only other version of this i liked was one by Starflyer 59, check it out somewhere, i got it if anyone wants me to email it to them, very good and low key and chilled out

  17. Actually what sounds like bagpipes in the original version (by the church) ARE indeed bagpipes. The solo is a bit of bagpipe music flipped around backwards through a synclavier. Why? Because they could…and then they liked it.

When played live (electric) that solo is a guitar and an ebow, but the original version on Starfish is a bagpipe (and synclavier).
