My Dad used to sing this to me when I was little. Brings back lovely memories x
What a blast from the past. My grandpa used to sing this to me when I was little and he would do these waves and all crazy stuff with his eyes brows the whole time. It was amazing lol.
I grew up singing this song, as led by my dad. He added another verse to it: Oh, frogsy bugs and birdsy bugs and little dogsy liver. A kiddleet liver too, wouldn't you? Now if the words sound queer and funny to your ear and make you want to jump in the river, sing frogs eat bugs and birds eat bugs and little dogs eat liver. Oh, frogsy bugs and birdsy bugs and little dogsy liver. A kiddleet liver too, wouldn't you? NO!

Yup. Leland brought me here too. A kid'll eat ivy, too, wouldn't YOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUU!
Stop it! You're making my grandmother blush βΊοΈπ΅
My daddy used to sing this to me when bouncing me on his knee. He's gone now.
As a kid, I listened intently to my dad's Nat King Cole records. I knew every song back then. However, I cannot for the life of me find the Mairzy Doats version by Cole! Anywhere! I absolutely loved singing this song. Anyone know where I could stream this or what album it's on? I have literally gone through every album he's made and cannot find it anywhere! Like it's disappeared forever!
Thanks for this joyful ditty. My first grade class really liked it. And I did too!!
Haven't heard this since I was a child. And no. I'm not going to tell you how long that's been.
Why does it end so soon? Even if there aren't any more verses, you could have carried it on for 5 minutes 30 and I wouldn't complain.
Oh, Leland!
My mom sing me this song when I was little.. Thank you for the memory.
My friend Carl Starger loved this song…..
This is the song every man should sing when his hair turns white overnight.
I learned this in gradeschool maybe '89 – but I wonder if it was popularized by Twin Peaks? I knew the song before seeing Leland, but it was bezonders creepy that he was singing it.
Leland.
Leland says you're going back to Missoula
MONTANA!
Thank you Leland Palmer
That was a great walk down memory lane. Memories of childhood and our parents go rushing through our minds. Oh how young they were! I can see mama dancing in the kitchen, the aluminum and red kitchen set from the 50's and the checkered tile floor! It was such a time of innocence. Thanks.
WOWWOW!! LOVE this old song, it means so much to me – and wondering if you are on SingSnap.com ? If so connect with me there! I am AstraSpider – Thank you! π
Love your video. Was hoping to find more verses for this song. Going to sing it at a pet fair and also at a nursing home. Figured the older generation should remember this song.
Thank you so very much for letting me remember my daddy. Sand it to me every night before I went to sleep.
Adorable!!
MY CHILDHOOOD!!!
MY HEART IS DYING!!!

I like it too…. sung beautifully!XXXX In memory of our beloved dads (or granddads) XXXX
My dad was 46 years old when I was born. He would always sing this song to me… I still Love it!!!
ahhh hahahaha this is great!!!Β
Leland Palmer brought me here. Thank you twinpeaks for a great song
The same guy that wrote this song alsoΒ wrote "Hutsut Rawson on the Rillara". It's playing on the radio in the movie "A Christmas Story" (you'll shoot your eye out). I can't find it on YouTube. Maybe I can't spell it right.
my dad would sing this song and play the acoustic guitar I loved it miss you dad
My mom used to sing this and I'm smiling from ear to ear right now ! You are cute ! Thanks again From Marji !
My grand mother use to sing to me and my children
I love this song! I heard it from my mom (who heard it from her dad, of course) and at first I thought she was singing something about bears… anyway, it's a real shame that this song isn't sung as much nowadays, because it's so much fun!! My friends and I sing it all the time. Thanks for putting it on youtube; you have a wonderful voie!
My uncle always sang this to me when I was a child, man it brings back great memories!
my grandma definitely sung this to me when i was little!
I'm 12 and I'm really thinking about singing this, just to see people's reactions. I like it anyway, but of course, anything I like is "weird" or "creepy" or "mental", so this obiously isn't a great song. Oh well, it'd still be funny.
Was only vaguely familiar with this song until hearing it in full on a WWII compilation with my four year old daughter. I couldn't really explain it, but your awesome video pretty much did it for me. Thank you!
You are adorable.
I recall this song maybe from an old movie
