Great video! I would like to point out that it's a melodica as opposed to a harmonica, which also uses reeds.
the beginning of the song makes me think of those older chinese pop songs about love that were more common around the 2000s or late 1990s. its the kind of song that reminds me of some chinese romantic soap opera set in the 2000s.

When you go into Yakuza 0 expecting Bakamitai to be the only banger, but then you realise how godly the rest of the soundtrack is.
I'm glad you brought up the blending of male/female vocals for this one. The way they did it in this track it reminds me of James Brown or Leonard Cohen live shows where the girls would do similar harmonized vocals that had really sad or eerie bluesy effects with the songs. I know for sure there's a good version of "It's a Man's World" and "Hallelujah" on youtube from each of them respectively that shows almost exactly what you're talking about here with Baka Mitai.

Weird to think we almost never got this song. The idea for a karaoke mini game was pitched by Ryosuke Horii (The director of Like A Dragon.) during the development of Yakuza 3 but was rejected because it was too “feminine” for Kiryu. Of course it was still made because a bunch of staff loved the idea.
