I saw Robben Ford on tour with George Harrison in Chicago in November 1974. It was my very first concert. I was 10 years old.
Everytime this guy licks his lips you gotta take a shot.
love Robben but doesn't he mean 13th = double flatted 7th, or simply 6th
👌🏽👌🏽💯
I just stumbled over this guy a few weeks ago…
… Super cool. Love 'em.
He's going to make my jazzy blues deep dive rich!
Thank you I have been working on chord extensions and this is such an excellent walk thru of the scale degrees picking thru the process with a true musical mind.
He presents it like a bob Ross tutorial
What a master
Blues is the healer 💙
Ahh I get it in a sense but why always small pickups, got 2 have humbuckers ffs : )
FORD IS GOD
Robben, you are my good buddy! Ha!
I like how you sad to add some pieces of chords to something else, like borrow from one place and put somewhere in different melody or so on, thanks for nice lesson.
IYes, I appreciate that he is an accomplished player and knows his theory, yet something about Robin just bugs me. Everything is always so sour and complicated and dark and USELESS other than trying to impress people with dissonant abstract "jazz."
Good thing I didnt purchase his course on string dampening! lol
At 5:40 when he said Ab13 add 9. Isn't it just a sharp 4 nine chord? Like Eb9 right. That is how I think anyways. Thank you master Jedi Ford for all the knowledge you give us. much love! 💜
About once a year I go back to these amazing lessons….. Thank you Mr Ford for teaching me so much…
I have a hard time playing the blues as of late. I'm white and boring. I look to the greats for inspiration. Billie Holiday comes to mind. Search: Billie Holiday. Cultural apropriation is next.
I’m “familiar” with these concepts of chord construction; the challenge for me is being able to do it without having to carefully think about it. Maybe someday.
Absolutely brilliant delivery. So natural, as if he's sat with you in your kitchen having a cup of tea and showing you a few tips.
Robin Ford is the man!!!
Blablabla…12 minutes pour montrer 2 accords???
As soon as that 15th liplick and smack hit I couldn't close the video fast enough
Nice lesson. Would be great if you didn't shake every chord though. I'm trying to get the fingerings here!
Robben is all about the music..gotta love this guy..
Robben..what are the chords used by steely dan called MOO MAJOR CHORDS?
"+9" also #9
Too bad you have to show all these beginners your odd fingerings. Just sayin'.
Absolutely amazing player!! This cat could play barb wire on a 2×4!!!!
cool singing….you should sing…yup
the best
What a special experience to be talked to and explained the rich inner workings of chords/chord nuances by such an extremely adept and exciting musician!
what is 7-9-10-13
here another youtube video with 90% drivel and 10% example and just playing. IM TIRED OF BEING TOLD HOW YOU MOVE YOUR HANDS, YOUR LITTLE PHILOSOPHY, WHAT A MAJOR SCALE IS… GEEZUZ… JUST PLAY THE EXAMPLES!
Thanks so much for this Robben it'll be something I play with for years to come. Thanks again!
Great player and teacher. So relaxed and chill.
Great teacher. Inspirational!
Thank you, what a friendly, generous mentor… God bless you, Sir.
Wow 9:03 is GOLD!!! Anyone know what songs use this vamp?
Robben is just tooooo cool. Thank you for expanding my brain.
all the lessons are awesome!
This guy is the freakin' Bob Ross of guitar… Watching this thinking, oh man that looked easy, here I'll just grab my guitar and do that… Um doesn't come out the same at all. But still he explains it as if you could do it yourself. The secret, like Bob Ross's absolutely disciplined and perfected brush strokes, comes only from having a long, involved relationship with the neck of a guitar.
