Sabaton History:

======== “Bismarck” LYRICS =======

From the mist a shape, a ship is taking form
And the silence of the sea is about to drift into a storm
Sign of power, show of force
Raise the anchor battleship plotting its course

Pride of a nation a beast made of steel
Bismarck in motion king of the ocean

He was made to rule the waves across the seven seas
To lead the warmachine
To rule the waves and lead the Kriegsmarine
The terror of the seas
The Bismarck and the Kriegsmarine

Two thousand men, and fifty thousand tonnes of steel
Set the course for the Atlantic with the allies on their heel
Firepower, firefight
Battlestations, keep the targets steady in sight

Into formation, the hunt has begun
Death and damnation, the fleet is coming

He was made to rule the waves across the seven seas
To lead the warmachine
To rule the waves and lead the Kriegsmarine
The terror of the seas
The Bismarck and the Kriegsmarine

At the bottom of the ocean the depths of the abyss
They are bound by iron and blood
The flagship of the navy the terror of the seas
His guns have gone silent at last

Pride of a nation a beast made of steel
Bismarck in motion king of the ocean

He was made to rule the waves across the seven seas
To lead the warmachine
To rule the waves and lead the Kriegsmarine
The terror of the seas
The Bismarck and the Kriegsmarine

To lead the warmachine
Rule the waves and lead the Kriegsmarine

The terror of the seas
Bismarck and the Kriegsmarine

To lead the warmachine
Rule the waves and lead the Kriegsmarine

The terror of the seas
Bismarck and the Kriegsmarine

  2. For real? Idiotic video, stupid text, maybe if some real shells fly around their heads they realise the horror of war. They claim to be not to be political and i believe that but in my country there are enough stupid people wich use this song for their own good. Sorry, but this is crap.

  3. Bismark should be renamed Hitlers Folly, as it was a massive waste on all fronts. Wasted manpower, wasted resources they had little of, wasted naval power, wasted tech, and wasted moral for the nation. It was intensely stupid to send out such a heavy ship almost completely alone. It's one escort, Heavy Cruiser Prinz Eugen had to break off after the first naval battle. Yes they sunk the battlecruiser Hood, pride of the British navy, but a 1 to 1 trade for Hood and Bismark was never equal. Lets be clear, Bismark was in fact years ahead of it's other Battleship counter parts and could land shots 20 km's away with precision. Sending it out into the Atlantic was insane unless they could resupply it. Considering that Bismark couldn't clear the passage, then nearly unarmed freighters had no chance, and you are left with 50000 tonnes of steel, or the worlds largest paperweight.

In the end, Bismark fell prey to the weakest of naval bombers. Very outdated Swordfish were tasked to chase Bismark, and eventually they found and attacked her. A torp hit it's rudder and sent Bismark into a large circle, bleeding oil, and a massive trail that the allies could easily track back to the source. After that the lone ship was doomed.

Before this while not large, the Kriegsmarine could have picked it's ground and using Bismark as the heavy hitter baited British ships into conflicts in German waters, supported by land based airforces, and worn down the British navy. It's not about numbers when you have such a strong advantage, and Bismark was years ahead of any ship the Birts had at that time. Like the tanks and the aircraft German research had the edge but they wasted maybe the second strongest Battleship built at the time and lost it to a very outdated torpedo bomber. The only good decision to come from this was Hitler closed down the efforts to build up a navy since clearly he had no idea how to mange them. While Germany suffered at sea at least they did slow the bleeding by not comitting more resources to their navy other than the U-Boats.

  4. 5. Fun fact: The Bismarck´s battlestations were so advanced and made to target the fastest of planes, that the crew had difficulties shooting down the slow flying planes that were used against it.

    DJ khaled: suffering from succes

  6. Got to love sabaton, they dont give a shit about being "politically correct" they tell you history as it happened not as the news said it did. Plus they actually make history enjoyable and more interesting even with the dark past and the many dead they talk about.

  7. "On May 24, two armored squadrons met off the coast of Greenland." Bismarck "and" Prinz Eugen "had to fight their way to the ocean. There was a several-minute exchange of artillery blows, as a result of which the largest ship and the Royal Navy legend, the battlecruiser HMS" Hood " , blew up and sank instantly, dragging 1,500 sailors into the depths, including four Polish cadets.England was in mourning, and the Royal Navy was in a rage – to avenge! The 4th Destroyer Flotilla then arbitrarily abandoned the protected convoy and set out to search. Five destroyers scoured the ocean in a line 10 miles wide. On the wing of this formation there was a ship marked with the tactical number G65 and the white and red flag. May 26 at At 10.30 pm, the echo of a large ship appeared on the Piorun radar screen. Seven minutes later, mate Dolecki reported that he could see the ship to the right of the bow and added completely irregularly: "What a barn!" An open-text warning was sent immediately to the air, so as not to waste time encrypting and avoid possible mistakes: "G65 in direct contact with Bismarck, my position …".The signal searchlight blinked the name of the ship at the German: ORP Piorun. In response, there was a salvo of six 150-mm medium artillery guns. Commander Eugeniusz Pławski, commanding "Piorun", gave the order: "Three volleys in honor of Poland!". Four bow 120 mm guns opened fire. The Germans turned eight 380 mm main artillery guns towards the attacker. The Pole's volley weighed 132 kg, the German's volley – two tons. Hits by the destroyer's shells could at most tear the deck planks or smash the less resistant panes of the battleship. Meanwhile, striking "Piorun" with one 380-millimeter bullet fired from "Bismarck" would end the duel in the blink of an eye. But all that mattered was the repeated homing: "G65 in direct contact with Bismarck, my position …" "The Piorun bolt changed course abruptly. He accelerated, or almost stood still. Anything to confuse the opponent. At the same time, the remaining destroyers of the 4th Flotilla appeared on the battlefield and began torpedo attacks. After midnight, Commander Vian sent the Polish destroyer, which was running out of fuel, back to the port with a categorical order. The embittered Pławski ordered to take a course to the nearest naval base in Plymouth. They got there on the remnants of oil. Unfortunately, they could not watch as the dawn liners King George V and Rodney, along with the heavy cruisers Dorsetshire and Norfolk, pounded the Bismarck with heavy shells and finally sank it" Text: Teodor Gasiorowki
