Sometimes when this place gets kind of empty
Sound of their breath fades with the light
I think about the loveless fascination
Under the Milky Way tonight
Lower the curtain down on Memphis
Lower the curtain down all right
I got no time for private consultation
Under the Milky Way tonight
CHORUS:
Wish I knew what you were looking for
Might have known what you would find
Wish I knew what you were looking for
Might have known what you would find
And it's something quite peculiar
Something shimmering and white
Leads you here despite your destination
Under the Milky Way tonight
CHORUS
Under the Milky way tonight..
Under the Milky Way tonight…
I love how totally minimal this cover is and while I harbor a certain fascination with what a Gold or Silver version would have sounded like, I think this one is great.
sorry. big fan of various versions of this song, but this one doesn't do it for me. not enough dynamic range or instrumental highs and lows. tried to like it… just cant. There's an over the top rocker version by Sugarwall I like, but for the most part, it's hard to compete with The Church's understated original- if for no other reason than the simplicity of Steve Kilby's vocal.
great tune
Perfect mix! I love the song, the band, the cover. So great.
