The original appeared on my Max Sedgly Pandora station of all places. Now hopelessly hooked on The Church and their sublime inventive timeless dream pop. Their new AND old shit sounds fresh af. Apparently never put out a bad album in 30+ years.
Kilbey cracked in concert once that there are like 500 crappy covers of this so I went cringe-surfing just to torture myself. Obvi this ain't one. LOVE what Brandon does with covers in general. The Chairlift vocal trade-offs here raise the drama level so nicely. Goosebumps when female voice comes in aghhhh!
If only more artists were able to stay so young-sounding, honest, prolific, and relevant as they age. The road less traveled. Kilbey & Co are my musician role models, straight up.
