  1. Just Yes – a tripple Yes ! Everytime i listening to your beloved teaching, it's just works imidiately here for everydays plays.. it's Magic" isn't it worth it for saying – beloved that time is Magic ! It works always more & more because after 20 years as a musician the steps to the fullest are smal enpugh to follow.. So glad your are here.. blessings & greetings & hugs. . God bless you / your Family ! Châpeau a tripple time .. happy New Year 2021

  2. I love how u consider all aspects and from different perspectives when u make a point, it’s almost that u consider all (what if) scenarios that pops into my mind as the video proceeds; like I start feeling I am missing something but then bingo….. U hit on it immediately and I just connect the dots 🙏 amazing stuff

  3. This is how music should be taught. It's the missing link from far too much instruction on "learning an instrument." (and not learning music.) Keep up the great work, Aimee!

  4. So when it's not the 1 chord then substitute the 6th generally? Essentially it's relative minor. .. where that fails follow the video for other methods but essentially the substitute is within the chord scale. I need to find more chord substitution lessons. It's a weak point.

  5. Super cool video but man the 80s music (besides Bruuuce, Dire Straits, Stray Cats, Clapton, and some great blues and bluegrass) pretty much sucks.

"Dont you want me baby" make me think of people at work that know nothing about music (and dance very awkward at holiday parties). Strange song to use when thinking about the Money Chords when you think of all the amazing songs out there. But as always, thanks so much……… I always learn a ton from these vids.

  6. I like that you chose 'Don't you want me baby?" by The Human League (1981) for this video. I just played the song in the background while watching your video. Thank you.

  7. I don't even have time to watch this right now but I do have time enough to stop by and hit the LIKE button… You are So AWESOME Aimee Nolte! I will come back later and listen to the lesson. Your husband is the luckiest guy to draw breath. I love that you are SO married you wear your rings on both the left And right hand… LOL. Love you and all that you teach us.

  8. Hi Aimee. Just wanted to thank you for releasing such great videos. This "Money Chords" video has helped me solve a chord problem that doesn't sound quite right on a song that I am working up on GarageBand.

  9. When the LYRICS are sad, feelings of uncertainty, depressing or negative you use Minor chords..

When the lyrics are happy, energetic, triumphant and positive you use Major chords.

That's a faster way of knowing which chords to play over certain lyrics in a song!

"Don't you want me??" is a question of uncertainty, therefore the chord will be MINOR, so that's why A'minor works for that line.

The F and G chord were used for the happier lyrics of that song.

Study "Fade into You" by Mazzy Star… All her lyric lines that are SAD get that A'minor chord. The Triumphant lyrics get the C major chord.

    G-D-C for the happy lines

    G-D-Am for the sadder lines.

The "Fade into you" chorus would be G-D-C becuz that's a happy thought.

"I think it's strange You left Me" would be G-D-Am bcuz that's a sadder thought.

"A stranger's light (lighting a cigarette or candle) comes on slowly" is a HAPPY thought, so you play G major, D major, C major.

Who isn't happy when you light a beautiful candle or light up a cigarette while visiting someone to discuss a breakup? Always pay attention to the LYRICS of a song…That will determine which chord to play.. major or minor or diminished.

She continues to sing: "A stranger's Heart WITHOUT A HOME"

(Now, she's consulting with a homeless person about her breakup), so that's a SAD lyric… therefore you play G major, D major to the A'minor chord.

Do you understand that formula?? That's how you choose which chord to play over the Lyrics.

Minor chords for Serious, negative, sad, depressing lyrics
.Diminished chords are used for ever sadder lyrics than regular minor chords. LOL!

Major chords are for Happy, positive, energetic, and triumphant lyrics.

    Good luck, y'all! Cheers!
