Hey guys Marty Schwartz here again with “MartyMusic!” Hope you are off to a good week. I decided to teach a classic easy acoustic song for you guys, “Under The Milky Way” by The Church. It’s a song made up of easy chords but it’s also a classic tune for 12 string. All my best and thanks for supporting me at my project “MartyMusic!”

  1. A Nashville Tuned guitar would sound brilliant, too. Even like the Country boys do with two guitars on the rhythm track, running Standard and Nashville.

  2. I keep hearing the G and the B notes and it didn't sound right with this version but then I realized if I put a capo on V and transpose to Em, I can do the Em then make it a Em7, it sounds perfect. Then when you hit the Cmaj7 and D, that high B note is there. 🙂

  3. Isn't it funny how our ears hear it differently? I would put my pinky on the G of the little E string for that that second chord. I hear the top G much more.

  4. Sick Marty thanks so much mate. I was on my way home from work after a crazy long day looked at the stars and the southern cross and the Milky Way tonight came in my head, such an amazing moment, and to come home & learn how to play it it has truly blessed my day!

  5. Thank you for explaining the rhythm part down down up down up down down up down now that's a pretty big part of the song so thank you for doing that

  6. They actually play this on 2 guitars…….one in the open position as shown. And one capoed at fret 5. The 5th fret guitar uses Em7, Cmaj 7 and D SHAPES for the main part.

  7. Thank you Marty for the detail of the thumb over F# on the Asus4! I could always hear it on the original but now i can finally play it and have it sound JUST RIGHT! 😀 (I'd always figured it was just an overdub…)
