Hey guys Marty Schwartz here again with “MartyMusic!” Hope you are off to a good week. I decided to teach a classic easy acoustic song for you guys, “Under The Milky Way” by The Church. It’s a song made up of easy chords but it’s also a classic tune for 12 string. All my best and thanks for supporting me at my project “MartyMusic!”
Sincerely,

Marty you legend
Most excellent breakdown, as always! Many thanks.
A Nashville Tuned guitar would sound brilliant, too. Even like the Country boys do with two guitars on the rhythm track, running Standard and Nashville.
The strumming pattern juxtaposes how couples sleep together out of wedlock 69 and how they sleep together after marriage 96
Awesome!!! How about Mandocello – Cheap Trick
I keep hearing the G and the B notes and it didn't sound right with this version but then I realized if I put a capo on V and transpose to Em, I can do the Em then make it a Em7, it sounds perfect. Then when you hit the Cmaj7 and D, that high B note is there. 🙂
Steve Kilbey said that when he played his "G-Chord" that he ALWAYS mutes the "A-STRING".. (apparently he did that for all of The Church songs)
Thanks for teaching this song!
Isn't it funny how our ears hear it differently? I would put my pinky on the G of the little E string for that that second chord. I hear the top G much more.
Love this guitar! ?
Sick Marty thanks so much mate. I was on my way home from work after a crazy long day looked at the stars and the southern cross and the Milky Way tonight came in my head, such an amazing moment, and to come home & learn how to play it it has truly blessed my day!
Sounds good but those chords are not exactly what is played in the song.
LOVE ITTTTT ?
Best tutorial for this song that I've seen. Trying to get up nerve to play this at an open mic since the vocal is such a low range
♬ I fine'ly found what I was playing wrong
It took a YouTube vid to find

One of my favorite songs from the late 80's! Nice job!
such an underrated 80s song!!!
Thanks mate
They actually play this on 2 guitars…….one in the open position as shown. And one capoed at fret 5. The 5th fret guitar uses Em7, Cmaj 7 and D SHAPES for the main part.
Marty, you’re awesome! Thanks for all of the tutorials man!
Rock on!
Marry you're the best and I absolutely love you! Thanks for sharing and teaching me so much!!!

One of my favorite songs from the late 80's! Nice job!
Really like this tune, but I can't be seen with A minor… (by the way, I'm pretty sure that's not F7)
such an underrated 80s song!!!
Awesome. I owe ya, man!
Thank you Marty for the detail of the thumb over F# on the Asus4! I could always hear it on the original but now i can finally play it and have it sound JUST RIGHT! 😀 (I'd always figured it was just an overdub…)
what a gorgeous guitar !
Donnie Darko anyone?
Love that 562!
Marty, could you please, please do "Lost" by the Church? Thank you.
Your awesome!!!
Not sure why I burst out laughing when you did the whole up, down, up down thing.
That is one shiny ass guitar!
